When we arrived in Vancouver, it didn’t take me long to rejoice in the extent of options both in apparel, beauty, and grocery that were greener. As someone who is plant-based, this is major for me throughout our many moves. Sure! You can order just about anything these days, but it’s a total win when you have local accessibility to better/greener/more responsible items of any kind — and the west coast has proven no shortage of that.

Skye Footwear is one of those brands. And one I needed to find, because if I had to pick one wardrobe item that was less likely to be conscious, it would be shoes (sneakers especially).

Summer With Soho Designs

You might have noticed lately, that I swapped out my usual diaper bag for something new? And while I still have a love for my original bag, with the arrival of summer and the little one turning 3, it was necessary to have something with high functionality — something that has zips, clips, pockets galore and could not only hold but also manage, the organizational task of packing a well prepared load for any beach trip, splash pad outing, picnic, and beyond. I love pretty, but I need practical (or both) because I don’t want to miss a single moment or opportunity right now, and that’s why I’ve been faithful to our new Kenneth Bag from Soho Designs, because it assures all that.

By now you’ve probably seen me, more or less living, in these distressed black skinnies. I can’t help it. They’re basically a staple piece — classic in colour and cut, but trendy enough to funk up my very essential based wardrobe. And I feel good as gold in them because they’re part of a movement towards #ZeroExploitation, something Outland Denim has committed entirely to ensuring with their brand of men and women’s jeans.

Carnaval Del Sol, Vancouver

The universe has a funny way of working, doesn’t it? This will be Rhe’s first summer in Canada, not in Latin America. And while we are loving our new chapter in Vancouver, it almost doesn’t feel right. Seriously – this kid was made for living at the equator. But the biggest Latin American Festival in the entire PNW, Carnaval del Sol, just so happens to be held right here. Fitting isn’t it?
