Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring (Update)

 At last, the warm weather has decided to show face.

After what felt like an exceptionally long fall and winter stride (especially with extended lockdowns, restrictions, cold snaps and catching the big C) we couldn't be more excited for a new season and the fast approaching summer break.

There have been minimal updates on this particular platform, but I'm going to make an effort to update links, codes, and double share content here for easy finding and those of you who aren't as or at all active on social media.

Soon coming will be our annual summer bucket list, a bit on capsule wardrobe with kids, and a few road trip destinations (Southern Ontario) to consider adding to your summer list.

Disclaimer: I’m not an “outdoorsy” person by any means, so when you read this post, it’s coming from a place of understanding for anyone who’d rather be somewhere warm — including inside.

But since becoming parents, we’ve (self proclaiming) embraced a lot of things that aren’t exactly my jam. And for most, not all, of the time — I’m so happy about what the open mindedness has done for both my child’s growth and even more so, our own!

New Year, New Everything

If you’ve long followed The OM Edit, or former ‘Peeks At Five Ft.’, then you know just how many “adventures” we’ve been on. That’s what I call them — our moves, team changes, free agency, last minute contract signing and everything in between like marriage itself, parenthood... you know.. adventures!

And while we love each new adventure as it comes, we of course have favourites. The next, easily finding it’s way into the top few.

Weekend Ice-Cream Date

At last! The weekend is here. Friday’s arrival always feels pretty good but the weekends are only getting better with the time change (hello sunshine-y evenings) and spring’s slow but steady creep up. We had temperatures as high as 17°C this week and the boys especially, were in their tee wearing glory (not me because I’m only ever cold).

Weekend Basics

Weekends are nothing fancy in our household – in fact, most of the time, they hardly even seem like “weekends”. Generally my husband has a game, sometimes two, occasionally three (if you can even stand the thought). But when we do weekend, it’s worth every minute – which is usually spent finding a new coffee shop, hitting up a fruit market, and a whole lot of outside time with a rambunctious toddler. 

This calls for all of the basics – a favourite jean, a sneaker and my ultimate go-to, a classic tee (added a leather jacket because the weather was that mild that I felt obligated to wear something other than a coat equal to my body weight).

Life Lately, Lessons From Our Children

It’s so funny, all the things a child can come up with to ask. Often the answers are redundant to us because we forget even having ever learned them. But there is one topic in particular, Rhe is really fond of, that does have me fooled. Tomorrow!

All Wrapped Up

Winter is most definitely here (at least if you’re a fellow Canadian it sure is). Christmas is only days away. 
And it’s safe to say the madness of the the holiday season is ever so much underway. We’ve been simultaneously wrapping presents and packing suitcases like it’s nobody’s business.

Life Lately

The content has been a little slow around here because, if you follow along on other platforms, you know that we up and moved to South America (again - you know the drill). While being here doesn't come with a shortage of content to cover, we've been slowly adjusting as well as mostly soaking in our son's experience with travelling. The style posts will be far and few between until coming home for a few reasons; the climate is a lot different and it's also not ideal to have some of your personal items out and about here (certain jewellery, wardrobe pieces, and the camera we normally use to shoot outfit and details).
