Everyone needs some good, quality basics in their wardrobe. I’ve featured FRANC before and shared snippets of their pieces many times throughout my social feed because they do just that — and so perfectly might I add.

I’ve been getting questions about this piece ever since I got it, and increasingly so since it’s begun making it’s way into Canadian retailers (such as Starbucks Canada). It’s this ceramic mug, from EMBER which also happens to be the world’s first temperature-control mug.

If you’re wondering what the hell that means, it’s essentially a technology incorporated/smart mug that can be controlled via set preferences and/or through your mobile device or smart phone.

Which is why I just wanted to do up something quick about what Brass Clothing is doing that’s different than a lot of women’s wear brands and so up my alley, so maybe it’ll be your jam too.

You might have noticed lately, that I swapped out my usual diaper bag for something new? And while I still have a love for my original bag, with the arrival of summer and the little one turning 3, it was necessary to have something with high functionality — something that has zips, clips, pockets galore and could not only hold but also manage, the organizational task of packing a well prepared load for any beach trip, splash pad outing, picnic, and beyond. I love pretty, but I need practical (or both) because I don’t want to miss a single moment or opportunity right now, and that’s why I’ve been faithful to our new Kenneth Bag from Soho Designs, because it assures all that.

I’ve featured Miakoda New York here before, because I genuinely am a fan and customer but I wanted to do a better overview of the brand — who they are, where they’re from, what they’re about — because it’s important to “know” the people or heart behind the business whenever possible, so you can have a little more transparency with what you’re choosing and where you’re putting your dollar. 

This super dreamy, breezy ensemble is in fact two pieces from the brand; The Tee and Slim Fit Joggers, both in white (which is more of an off white or cream and perfect if you like white but your lifestyle doesn’t) but chances are if you’ve ever seen me in person or popped by any given time on a weekend, you would find me in a pair of their infamous slouchies, like harem pants but super chic.

I’ve long been a fan of eco-friendly brand, Free Label, for their feminine-chic designs that have the ability to carry you from yoga to errands to coffee shop meet ups. Because really, that’s what life actually looks like and a girl shouldn’t have to break the bank or clutter the wardrobe to accommodate that. Not only are the designs ridiculously flattering and versatile, but every piece comes with the comfort and promise of being vegan friendly, responsibly manufactured, and made only of sustainable-organic materials. With all that being said, I’m super excited to be teaming up with them today to bring you this post, sharing a little more about their efforts and showcasing the functionality of their collections.

In the last little while, I’ve become a fan of a few new brands that aligned better with my buying morale. One of these brands is Toronto label, FRANC. Being ethically-made, responsibly sourced, and providing the opportunity to support local (for my fellow Canadians) is a great and some what less common opportunity worth jumping on. But don’t just take my word for it – let’s talk about behind the scenes of this new favourite of mine.

I can honestly say, there’s been a noticeable difference since focusing on more intentional consumer habits. Buying better might just sound like a good saying but it’s really so much more than that. Having only things you love, that are well made, and are entirely functional to your day-to-day living matters.

Given the fact that this generally consists of running around or squirming even when he is supposed to be sitting still, along with the timing they occur, I want him to be cozy. Not that he ever wears anything "uncomfortable", I'm always looking to put him in extra play-promoting pieces.
